Accreditations
The British School, New Delhi, India is accredited /associated with the following organisations:
Council of International Schools (CIS) www.cois.org (Find us on the CIS website)
CIS is the leading, truly global, accreditation agency for international schools. Accreditation is hard-earned and is a standard achieved by only five other schools in India. The British School is recently been re-accredited for another ten years. It is an outstanding testimony to the way we live out our mission, fulfil our aims and honour our values. The CIS Accreditation status assures parents of an adherence to globally-acknowledged standards in international education. Through membership we take advantage of global recruitment opportunities, courses and conferences and consultancies, when needed. Recently, CIS have worked with us on the training of our governing body. Four members of the schools staff are qualified school accreditation team members, and take part in accreditation visits to other schools around the world.

On a sub-regional scale, SAIBSA is the IBO's regional network of schools in India. Again, we are well represented on SAIBSA and have hosted SAIBSA workshops in 2010.

Within this organisation, The British School is one of the longer-established international schools, catering for a much broader range of international families than do many of the member schools. The school participates in two conferences annually.

The SSAT is an independent, not-for-profit, membership organisation with headquarters in the United Kingdom, dedicated to raising standards and achievement in secondary schools in England and internationally. It does this by building and enabling a network of innovative, high performing schools in partnership with business and the wider community. While we are not a specialist school, being a SSAT member keeps us in touch with the cutting-edge developments in British schools. SSAT offers conferences and on-line forums for teachers and school leaders, as well as access to a large number of high-quality specialist schools.
The Near East South Asia Schools Council (NESA) www.nesacenter.org

The Round Square Conference of Schools www.roundsquare.org
The British School has been a member of the Round Square Conference of Schools since October 2009. Round Square is an association of schools, world-wide, that shares some common values and a common philosophy, concerning leadership development (of students), internationalism, peace education, community service and outdoor and adventurous education.
Round Square schools subscribe to Kurt Hahn's philosophy (the founder of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme, the United World Colleges movement and Outdoor Education Centres) , which embraces a series of six pillars or precepts which can be summed up in the word IDEALS. They are Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service. Students at Round Square schools make a commitment to addressing each of these pillars through exchanges, work projects, community service and adventure. The overriding goal is to ensure the full and individual development of every student as a whole person through the simultaneous realisation of academic, physical, cultural and spiritual aspirations. We recently held a Round Square Peace Summit in January 2011 with participants from 23 local and international schools.
