Fee structures
The fees are reviewed on an annual basis and all changes are approved by the Board of Governors. While the Nursery has a consolidated term-wise fee structure and a PSO (Parent School Organisation) membership fee, the fees for Reception to Year 13 include other components such as development fees and refundable deposits. Please remember that these fees are applicable to this academic year only (2011-12) and will change for applications to the year 2012-13. Do read the fee policies mentioned later on this page.
Important Information for 2012-13 applicants:
We are currently sharing with you the fee structure for 2011-12. The fees are reviewed on an annual basis and all changes are approved by the Board of Governors. While the Nursery has a consolidated term-wise fee structure and a PSO (Parent School Organisation) membership fee only, the fees for Reception to Year 13 include other components such as development fees and refundable deposits. Since Nursery will become the point of entry into the school from August 2012, please note that the fee structure for Nursery for 2012-13 will also include development fees and refundable deposits, the same as in the current Reception to Year 6 fee structure.
The fee structure for the next academic year, which is August 2012 – May 2013 is likely to be announced in June 2012, once the Board of Governors approves the same.
Important:
As stated in the revised Admissions Policy of The British School approved by the Board of Governors, the following is applicable to all potential admissions, i.e. all applicants for 2012-13.
A total Registration Fee of Rs.60,000/- by a cheque or a banker’s cheque (favouring "The British School Society") is to be paid. This includes:
- cost of Registration (Rs. 10,000/-) which is non-refundable and does not guarantee
admission; and the
- Registration charge: Rs.50,000/- which does not guarantee admission
Please note that the Registration charge:
- will be adjusted against the first term tuition fee when the applicant accepts the offer of
admission from the school and enrols; and
- is fully refundable for all families who have not been given an offer of admission and are withdrawing their
application from the waiting list on or before 10th of August of the academic year for which the application
for admissions was made
The ‘Registration charge’ will be forfeited (will become non-refundable) if:
a. For any reason, the family does not accept the offer of admission.
b. The family does not request, in writing, to the Admissions Office, the withdrawal from the waiting list on or before the 10th of August of the academic year for which the application for admissions was made.
The payment of the ‘Registration charge’ makes the application valid for the duration of the child’s school age, i.e. till the time the applicant turns 17 years.

Registration Fee is to be paid at the time of application. This is non-refundable and does not guarantee a place.
Development fee is a one-time payment at the time of admission, and used for capital expenditure. If there are more than 2 siblings in/joining the school, a concessional development fee of 60% will be charged for the third sibling onwards. No part of the development fee is refundable for students enrolling after 1st June 2011 under any circumstances.
Admission fees are non-refundable at any time.
Society fee is Rs. 5000/- per annum, per family. This is used for all British School Society expenses such as the Board of Governors’ trainings, annual general meetings and interim general meetings.
Insurance fee is Rs. 150/- per annum, per child. Coverage available is restricted to accident claims. Details of the policy are available upon request from the Finance Office.
Parent School Organisation (PSO) fee is Rs. 300/- per annum, per child. This fee helps fund various parent organised events such as Easter egg hunts, Christmas Giving Tree, Teachers Day and Workers Appreciation Day.
Term Fee (Tuition Fee) is charged as per the year group of the student and is invoiced on the first day of each term and are payable within 15 days of the date of invoice. Annual/ bi annual invoices can be issued on specific request. The term fee (tuition fee) is totally non-refundable.
Refundable deposits- Refundable deposits are fully refundable provided one clear term’s notice is given in writing to the Accounts office with a copy to the Admissions office. Families who are uncertain of the exact date of their departure may give provisional withdrawal notice to ensure refund of deposits. Students will remain on our rolls until final confirmation of withdrawal is given.
Notices for withdrawal must be provided as follows:
• For withdrawal at the end of first term notice must be given by 16th August 2011.
• For withdrawal at the end of second term notice must be given by 30th September 2011.
• For withdrawal at the end of third term notice must be given by 16th January 2012.
• For withdrawal at the end of fourth term notice must be given by 15th March 2012.
Refundable deposits are also dependant on the student receiving clearance from the textbook department and library that all books have been returned in good condition. Lost or damaged books are charged for at the prevailing replacement rate.
Late fee: Term / Tuition fees not paid by the due date attract a late fee of Rs.500/- per week, per child.
Bus Fee: We have 4 buses for Gurgaon area and South Delhi area. Detailed bus routes are available from the Admissions Office. Charges are fixed per term, per route irrespective of whether the student uses the bus for single or return journeys. Only students from Year 2 (age 6+) upwards may avail of the bus service.
Meal Plan Fee is charged per term (for those availing the facility). Current costs work out at Rs. 160/- per meal per child. The meal plan is voluntary and available for students from Year 1 to 13. Those wishing their children to join may download the form from the Downloads section of our website.
Apart from the above the school may levy SEN (Special Education Needs) fees on parents of children who avail of these services.
All external examination fees will be charged according to the fees set by the examination board and actual expenses incurred.
School fees are invoiced on the first day of each term and are payable within 15 days of the date of invoice. Annual/ Bi annual invoices can be issued on specific request. Late fee-Term / Tuition fees not paid by the due date attract a late fee of Rs.500/- per week, per child. The due dates for payment of fees are mentioned at the back of the invoices as well as on the school calendar.
