The
British School Nursery is an educational learning
environment for 3 to 4 year old children in the
heart of New Delhi. With the National Curriculum for
England as our guide, we use the Early Years
Foundation Stage to lead our programme and provide a
stimulating and educational curriculum for young,
inquisitive minds. We recognise the value of play
during these formative years and through a planned
weekly programme, provide a variety of fun and
positive experiences. This reinforces the
development of skills in a supportive environment,
enabling us to assist your child in all areas of
learning.
The British School Nursery is located within the
grounds of The British School. We have 5,000 square
feet of space dedicated to the education and care of
our nursery children in safe and secure
surroundings. Our learning environment has been
designed to reflect The British School educational
philosophy, with the highest quality furniture and
resources sourced from overseas and local suppliers
The British Nursery runs two sessions each day; Monday
to Friday, with 20 children in each session. The
morning sessions are from 8 am to 11 am and the
afternoon sessions from 11:45 am to 2:45 pm. We will endeavour to place your child in the session that
you indicate as your first preference; however this
will depend on availability.
THE EXPERIENCE
Our day will provide your child with
activities within a structured routine whilst
maintaining flexibility to meet individual needs.
Due to our small group size and high staff to
student ratios, your child will be able to develop
close and loving relationships with teachers and
peers. These relationships will be built during
individual, small and large group experiences in
addition to the routines of the day. The daily
schedule is planned in accordance with group and
individual learning objectives. These will be met
through a variety of daily activities that will be
designed to give the children a balance between
teacher-led and child-initiated learning
experiences. Each day will be planned for, within
the indoor and outdoor play environments.
SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS
The Nursery welcomes students with
moderate learning difficulties, provided we have the
means to support them adequately. Moderate learning
difficulties are extra learning needs that can be
met in the mainstream class through differentiated
learning.
STAFF
The Nursery staff includes both overseas
and locally trained teachers and support staff. With
a ratio of one staff member to every 4 children,
your child will be cared for and supported in a very
personal and individualised environment. |
