English as Additional Language (EAL)
Being an international school, not all of the children who come to our school have English as a first language. We believe that this should not be a barrier to their educational growth and we therefore cater to the multi-dimensional aspects of English language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and provide Literacy Support, English as an Additional Language Support (EAL), Cross-Curricular Support and a Reading Programme to the EAL students to help improve their English proficiency level.
We work closely with the mainstream classroom teachers to monitor each student’s level of improved proficiency in English, so that their needs for full integration into the regular classroom are continually assessed. As part of our inclusive approach, our aim is always to return the students to the mainstream classroom environment as soon as they may benefit from it.
