Having worked as a teacher’s assistant in other jobs and internships, I really appreciated the faith and confidence that the British School had in the interns allowing us full control in many of the classrooms. I was encouraged not only to develop lesson plans on my own, but was also asked to teach subjects that were not in the curriculum, but were of personal interest, such as film.

Student Support Services

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

Students have access to a host of services monitored by a professional, fully qualified Support Services team who works collaboratively with other team members, class teachers, specialist teachers, teaching assistants and parents to support their learning and emotional needs. We cater to each student’s individual needs.

Our Special Education Needs programme (SEN), English as an Additional Language programme (EAL), Counselling, University/College Guidance and Health services are all offered under the umbrella of Student Support Services. The team members help students through the use of a variety of strategies working together to address each student’s unique needs and ultimately helping them to enhance their opportunities for learning. The services are designed to assist students both in managing curriculum requirements and in participating fully in school life.

Please see our Special Needs and Language support section for more detailed information.
